AN ENAMEL AND BI-COLORED GOLD MOON LANDING BROOCH, PIERRE & JACQUES LEYSEN
One of only ten made, the jewelers presented one of them to President Richard Nixon during his first year in office.
To commemorate man's first landing on the moon, the Belgian jewelers Jacques and Pierre Leysen fashioned a set limited-edition brooch. The base of the flagpole held by the seated astronaut rests upon the Sea of Tranquility (approximately) where Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on 20 July 1969.
Designed as an astronaut on the moon, red, white, and blue enamel, textured and polished bi-colored 18k gold, 2 inches, circa 1969, unsigned, flag removable.
