A SUITE OF SIXTEEN FRENCH SILVER DESSERT STANDS
MARK OF ODIOT, PARIS, CIRCA 1860-1880
Comprising two sets of eight in two sizes, each on shaped-triangular stepped base, the smaller stands with stems formed of three angels resting on a large scrolls, holding fruit garlands applied in the centre with a coat-of-arms, their wings supporting the glass dish; the larger stands with wood core and stems formed of three foliate scrolls on large lion's paw feet and satyr mask terminal, hung with fruit garlands applied with a coat-of-arms, marked on base, stem and cup support, the large stands stamped B17, the smaller stands B18
the smaller stands 5 ½ in. (14 cm.) high; the larger stands 7 3/8 in.(19 cm.) high
gross weight 1,007 oz. 14 dwt. (31,344 gr.)
The arms are those of the Rothschild family.
