A JADE AXE
LONGSHAN CULTURE, CIRCA 2500-2000 BC
The axe flares slightly towards the softly bevelled, rounded cutting edge, with a hafting hole pierced from both sides near the butt. The stone is of an even greenish-white tone with some russet inclusions.
