La famille Martinot compte parmi la plus importante dynastie d'horlogers français.
Balthazar l'Ainé (1636-1716) est le fils de Balthazar (décédé en 1697). D'origine rouennaise, il est nommé Horloger ordinaire du Roi et du Conseil et Horloger d'Anne d'Autriche. Son enseigne A la Belle Image est installée Quai des Orfèvres.
