TWO AUSTRIAN SILVER AND GILT-METAL TABLE CLOCKS
VIENNA, LATE 19TH CENTURY
One modelled with drum-barrel clock, the glass cover encircled with red paste crystals, the engraved gilt-dial with Roman numerals within enamel cartouches, the reverse with enamel scene of an angel, the barrell hung with pearl grape bunches and enamelled grape leaves, raised by a Bacchic figure supporting the grape vines and sitting upon a tree stump on an onyx spreading octagonal base, the movement with spring balance escapement and bright-cut backplate; the other au cercle tournants of urn form surmounted by a putto, the pink enamalled dial rings with Roman and Arabic numerals above a bronze serpent encircling the base, his tongue serving as the hand, on a square base with putti emblematic of the seasons and with satyr putto to the canted corners

Urn clock: 8 in. (20 cm.) high
