The Cressons were a family of menuisiers operating from premises in the rue de Cléry, Paris. The first member of the dynasty to gain his maîtrise was Charles Cresson in 1720; the last being his great nephew Nicolas Michel Cresson in 1770 (Pierre Kjellberg, Le Mobillier Français du XVIII Siècle, Paris, 2002, pp. 230-241).
