the arched case with gilt-metal foliate mounts, fish scale sound frets to the sides, stop-fluted pilasters to the front, on stepped inverted break front base with scroll feet, the brass dial with silvered chapter ring and matted centre, foliate spandrels, slow/fast and chime/silent rings in the arch flanking a penny moon mount, the triple barrel movement with pin-barrel chimes on four gongs and hour strike on further gong, stamped for LENZKIRCH on the backplate, German, 20th century -- 17¾in. (45cm.) high
