the case modelled in the style of a pagoda with stylised urn finial to the moulded top and further finials to the angles, with panels to the sides modelled in relief with chinoiserie figures amidst buildings, pilasters to the front raised with chinese characters, on stepped rectangular base, the front modelled with figures of mandarins, the silvered dial with chinoiserie Roman chapters, a scene of two Chinamen conversing to the centre, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell, French, late 19th/early 20th century -- 14¼in. (37.5cm.) high
