A Royal Crown Derby dark blue ground plate
painted by Edwin Trowell with a street scene in 'Bakewell. Derbyshire' after a scene from the 'Gladstone Service' by Count Holtzendorf, within seeded gilt panel, within lobed panels gilt with scrolls below gilt borders with raised beads divided by moulded foliage, titled and signed in iron red script to the reverse, printed mark, date code for 1890, retailer's mark for W. Litherland & Co. Liverpool -- 22.9cm. diam. (very minor flaking to gilt rim)
