Gregory was apprentice at Mintons in about 1890 before moving to the Derby Osmaston Road site, becoming famous for his floral painting, especially pink roses.

painted by Albert Gregory to the centre with a basket of fruit and flowers within gilt roundel, the well with raised gilt pendant dot swags and flowerheads below 'jewelled' bands of gilt laves, the border pierced with leaf trellis pattern sections divided by three panels painted with flowers within raised gilt blooms and scrolling leaves, with gilt-line rim and footrim, signed, impressed marks, date code for 1883, later gilt mark -- 24.7cm. diam.
