Modelled standing, each naturalistically painted in tones of grey, on gilt-metal scroll bases

A pair of identical standing elephants, also possibly by Samson, sold from The Collection of The Marquis and Marquise de Ravenel; Christie’s, London, 21-22 November 2007, lot 51 (£20,900).
