Lot Essay

This endangered species strap is shown for display purposes only and is not for sale. The watch will be supplied with a calf leather strap.

As confirmed by Jaeger-LeCoultre's invoice dated 23 December 2017, this fascinating and quite possibly unique skeletonised Reverso was made in 2001 as a prototype for the now famous ‘Reverso Platinum One’ model, ref. 270.6.49. Numbered 000 / 500 and most likely the only example of this model in a stainless steel case, it was used as a demonstration piece at the 2001 Basel Fair for the launch of the ‘Reverso Platinum One’.

This exclusive prototype watch, fully confirmed by the Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture, will appeal to both Jaeger-LeCoultre collectors and those seeking that elusive and special ‘one-only’ piece.
