The Migueis family were the last residents of Quinta das Cruzes before it was acquired by the government of Madeira, who turned it into a museum. Today it is the largest museum in Madeira.

Tasting note: Tasted from demi john prior to bottling. Deeper nose of old vintage furniture wax, oily with a touch of fudge concentration. Very nice richness to this. High toned with notes of straw and pepper. Beautiful nose. Strong intense taste of canteiro cask concentration, this is what an old Sercial is all about, love the superb balance of all the components. Like a symphony of an orchestra. So refined and with character. Great Sercial. The acidity is very well integrated in the extracts. Top quality. Last tasted January 2020. EV.
