JRT Joao Romao Teixeira, Bual 1863
Madeira
Rebottled in 2017. New wax capsules over old wax. Old bottles with new stencilling. Levels: into-neck
Tasting note: Sweeter nose on the dried warm fruit side, some honey and Indian spices followed by touch of alcohol. Here too its clear this was in cask well over 40 years. Full start of taste with rich ripe fruits, rhubarb, rose petals and spices. The follow through is intense always balanced with fine acidity and a gentle alcohol tone. Strong wine of depth and length. Very good. June 2017. EV.
