Sancai-glazed architectural models from Tang dynasty, such as the present example, are very rare and serve as important documents of the architectrural styles of Tang dynasty. A very similar sancai-glazed model of a house with courtyard and separately made figures and animals from Tongchuan city, Shaanxi, is in the Yaozhou Kiln Museum, is illustrated in National Treasure Collection of Rare Cultural Relics of Shaanxi Province, Tang Sancai (Zhong hua guo bao, Tang Sancai juan), 1999, pp.100-101.

The result of Oxford thermoluminescence test no.C119s6 is consistent with the dating of this lot.
