Une autre version de cette composition, attribuée à Vincent Sellaer, est conservée au Davis museum du Wellesley College (Massachussets, Etats-Unis). Ces deux oeuvres semblent dériver d'une composition près de deux fois plus grande, représentant Judith l'épée relevée, passée en vente en 1991 et exposée à Bruxelles dans les années 1960 (voir S. Bergmans, Le siècle de Bruegel, 1963, p. 157, n°216).
