Displaying the classic grass-green dye indicative of weavings from Fachralo produced by combining primary-coloured dyes, this prayer rug bears a 'head and shoulders' shaped mihrab with a similar box-shaped recess at the lower end of the field creating a re-entrant niche design. The stepped polychrome triangles in the border are another popular feature in Fachralo weavings as well as those from Borjalou. For a comparable example woven on a blue ground see, Raoul Tschebull, Kazak, New York, 1971, p.36, pl.9.
