Huang Junbi (1898-1991)
a scroll in ink and colour on paper depicting a pavilion set amongst pine and willow in a mountainous river landscape shrouded in mist and cloud -- 43½in. x 16in. (110.5cm x 40.6cm), inscribed 'Dedicated to Mr Suyuan', dated jimao year (1939), a special day, one seal of the artist: Jun Bi.

Huang Junbi was born in Nanhai, Guangdong Province. He studied painting under Li Yaoping. He was appointed Dean of the Canton Municipal Art Academy in 1929. He claims as his sources the Yuan artist Wu Zhen, the Ming Artist Shen Zhou and the Qing master Dao Ji.
