CHARMING COPY of a most attractive little book. Lessius (a Latinisation of the Dutch surname Leys) made a Latin translation of Cornaro's treatise on diet and longevity, and after himself writing Hygiasticon, seu vera ratio valetudinis bonae, published the two works together in Antwerp in 1613. Thereafter the two works appeared together in reprints and translations throughout the 17th century. The first and second English edition of Hygiasticon both appeared in 1634.
