Cloisonné enamel zhadou appear to be quite rare. A zhadou dated to the first half of the 16th century decorated on the sides with a makara, in the National Palace Museum, is illustrated in Enamel Ware in the Ming and Ch'ing Dynasties, Taipei, 1999, p. 72, no. 6.
Grapevine decoration is most often seen on 15th and 16th century tripod incense burners. See H. Brinker and A. Lutz, Chinese Cloisonné: The Pierre Uldry Collection, New York, 1989, nos. 35, 42, 43, 57 and 59.
