Benjamin WILSON (1721-1788). The Repeal, or the Funeral of Miss Ame=Stamp. [London: Benjamin Wilson, 18 March 1766].

Wilson's celebrated engraving commemorating the repeal of the Stamp Act. “One of the most famous and popular of the political satires commenting on the Stamp Act is this one ... An instant success, it became one of the most copied satires of the period.” Later impressions carry lengthy explanation of the tax and its repeal beneath the picture (Dolmetsch).
