La présente œuvre fut initialement réalisée en 1948 en guise de heurtoir pour la porte de la galerie de William Copley à Beverley Hills, dans le cadre de l'inauguration de l'exposition To be continued unnoticed.

The present work was originally conceived in 1948 as the door knocker of William Copley's Gallery in Beverley Hills for the opening of the exhibition To Be Continued Unnoticed.
