The crest on the coasters is that of Archer, possibly for William Archer (d.1833), of Woolmers, Longford, Tasmania. Born in England he travelled to Tasmania in 1833 to join his sons. He died at the age of 79 following a fall from a horse. The Archer family were prominent in the history of Tasmania.
