JOHANNES DE IMOLA (1367-1436). In Clementinas opus. Edited by Franciscus Brevius. Venice: Andreas Torresanus de Asula, 24 February 1492.

Commentary on the decretals of Pope Clement V. The first edition of this work was printed in Rome in 1474. Johannes de Imola was an Italian jurist involved in the Western Schism. The last copy of this edition to appear at auction was in 1960; ISTC reports only one other copy in the United States. HR 9146; BMC V 310; BSB-Ink I-455; Bod-inc J-167; IGI 5282; Goff Suppl. Super-royal folio (420 x 276mm). 190 leaves. (First leaf spotted, with a few closed tears; some other leaves spotted, dampstain affecting lower margin and upper outer corner, occasional wormholes.) Modern half calf over marbled boards. Provenance: early marginalia on a few leaves – acquired from Bernard M. Rosenthal, 1 November 1964.
