The fundamental astronomical textbook of the later Middle Ages. This edition is sometimes found without the four leaves of text by Capuanus and Puerbach, as here; GW distinguishes a separate issue: GW M14633. Chancery folio (293 x 205mm). 146 leaves (of 146; not including 4 leaves of Capuanus and Puerbach present in some copies). Two large woodcuts of an armillary sphere, other woodcut diagrams throughout, small woodcut initials, Bevilaqua’s woodcut device (some dampstaining and spotting, occasional wormholes). Modern brown morocco (very tightly bound). Provenance: acquired from Bernard M. Rosenthal, New York, 1 April 1958.
