拍品专文

Large lacquer trays of this type were used by the Ryukyuan court in the 18th and 19th century and were also sent as 'tribute' to the court of the emperor of China. See a comparable piece in the Irving Collection published in James C. Y. Watt and Barbara Brennan Ford, East Asian Lacquer: The Florence and Herbert Irving Collection, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1992, pp. 96-97, no. 169.
