Sepia tone 7"x9" photo of Lou Gehrig jumping over a baseball bat held by Joe DiMaggio. The photo was taken during Spring Training in St. Petersburg, FL after both Gehrig and DiMaggio had signed new contracts. The image is a well known view of the two Yankee Sluggers and retains fine contrast and clarity with some surface wrinkles at the right side. There is a small reddish line in the background area due to ink from a date stamp on the back of the photo. Front of the photo also has some typical age crazing/creasing primarily to right side. Stamped and dated Mar 22, 1937 on the back with original paper i.d. labeling affixed. Originated from the personal collection of Joe DiMaggio and includes signed letter of provenance from DiMaggio's granddaughters.
