Very rare and obscure original brochure distributed to raise funding for the St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys which had been significantly damaged by fire in 1919. In order to generate interest and funding, the school of course featured their star alumni member Babe Ruth on the back cover. Ruth had once been educated and "trained" (as referenced in brochure text) at the Baltimore area school for wayward youth which he credited for turning around his life. The full image of Ruth batting in Red Sox uniform occupies the front cover of the brochure and has been signed in black fountain pen, "Yours Truly Babe Ruth". The signature presents in stunning high condition grade rating 9 out of 10. It is worthy to note the signature style of Ruth is consistent with its 1920 era publication medium indicative of having been signed to the period. Brochure measures an impressive 6 ¼"x9 ¾" interior and back cover displaying information and photos relating to the school in general. General light to moderate handling wear is evident including vertical center fold line. Notably rare and quite possibly unique surviving signature copy of this period publication relating to the inception of his baseball career. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA (9 MINT) and includes full LOA from JSA: Brochure: VG/EX-EX, Signature: MT
