Lot Essay

Rare original ticket stub issued for the game played at The Baker Bowl which saw The Phillies venerable Hall of Famer Grover Cleveland Alexander taking the mound. With the Red Sox facing a late inning deficit pitcher Ernie Shore was benched and a young Babe Ruth was brought in to pinch hit. The historic occassion marked the first of what would become (10) World Series appearances for Ruth, (3) of which were with the Red Sox. Stub displays bold color with scattered creasing/wear that does not interrupt the print. There are small chips to the two right edge corners and a larger on the left. One of just (5) which have been authenticated and assigned a numerical grade by PSA: PSA FR 1.5
