Lot Essay

According to the Omega Extract of the Archives the present watch was produced on 18th June 1958 and delivered to Netherlands Antilles.

The present timepiece is an attractive example of the rare "Constellation Automatic Chronometer" in white gold to appear in public to date. It is distinguished by its unusual two-tone white gold dial, beautifully harmonizing with the white gold case, rendering it a very distinguished, elegant look. The watch is furthermore preserved in very good overall condition, topping the overall appeal of this legendary timepiece.

Launched in 1952, the iconic "Constellation" model and its variations in regard to case and dial layout has become a highly coveted collector's watch. It is extensively described and illustrated in Omega - A Journey Through Time by Marco Richon, Chapter 8, pp. 359-400.
