MEZCALA STONE FIGURE, TYPE M12

The standing figure with delineated arms to the chest, the elongated head with characteristic eyebrows treated in relief.

Carlo Gay opined "some M-12 figures, only slightly convex at the front, flatter at the back are among the most geometrically conceived and sculpturally successful” (ibid, p. 59).
