The body of the vase is decorated with Dionysos beside a goat and an entourage of five maenads and Hermes, who is identified by his winged boots, short chiton, cloak and petasos. The scene is framed by a lotus bud chain, grape vines, and ivy tendrils. The shoulder is decorated with a departing warrior holding a Boeotian shield and standing infront of a quadriga with charioteer, between draped men seated on stools with scepters.
