Damaged wax capsule. Handwritten Boal 1927. Level: into-neck
Ricardo Diogo V. Freitas, managing director of Barbeito, confirms this bottle is in fact the 1827. A note on this bottle made by Ricardo Diogo Freitas of Barbeito: ‘This wine is indeed the 1827 Quinta do Serrado which belonged to my Mother’.
Bottle number, hand paint and wax all correspond to the bottles from Ricardo’s mother.
“It was a Barbeito-bottling of the late 80s and some of the bottles were hand painted. On some of those bottles was miswritten 1927 instead of 1827”. The handwritten 9 is a mistake. Its is indeed verified and authenticated as the 1827.
