Wax capsule. Stencilled bottle. Level: into-neck
Tasting note: This wine was bought in 1946-1948 during the foundation of the company. Aged in cask until 2008, then transferred to demi john. Tasted in July 2020 with Ricardo, he drew this demi-john sample on 8th May 2020.
Deep nose of spice cake not as concentrated as the 1875 yet in same style. Higher toned, yet reserved needs air to show itself. At first a bit on the backward side, the nose didn’t give much then, after 10 minutes evolving with now more old honey and waxy tones. Impressive and rich on extracts.
Mouth filling, liquorish start, unctuous texture of deep concentrated character. Strong and intense.
