Lots 519 & 520 were bought at The Massandra Collection II auction of 1991.
Massandra Ai Danil Red Port 1903

In original carton with copy of the 1991 Sotheby's sale catalogue included. Recorked. New wax capsule. Embossed bottle with imperial seal. Bottle 191 escape number. Level: base of neck. 19.4%. Residual sugar 84 gr/l. Total acidity: 4.5 g/l.
Only three vintages of the Ai-Danil Red Port are known – 1893, 1901 and 1903. Made at Ai Danil, the wines have a moderate tannin level but remain well balanced and should continue to keep for many years yet.
Tasting note: Beautiful tawny colour. Interesting, almost sweet nose, some fruit. Palete retains some sweetness, good acidity, moderate length. Dry aftertaste, shows age. Holding well. June 1989. David Molyneux-Berry M.W.
