LATE QING DYNASTY
Details
A FINELY CARVED JADEITE FIGURE OF LIU HAI
LATE QING DYNASTY
The figure is well carved in the round as Liu Hai in a dynamic pose with his arms raised holding a string of cash coins, his right leg is stretched behind him and left leg rests on a three-legged toad emitting a peach supported on wispy smoke. Beside him is a mandarin duck on a sea of turbulent waves. The stone is of rich apple-green and ice-green tones, with an area of amber inclusions on the base, cleverly utilised and carved as a crab.
8 3⁄4 in. (22.2 cm.) high, gilt-wood stand
