Lot Essay

Ces élégants ployants pourraient être ceux (avec le ployant sous le lot 51 de la présente vente) mentionnés par J. Mannheim dans son Catalogue de la Collection Rodolphe Kann, Paris, 1907, vol. II, cat. 205. Y figurent en effet "Trois tabourets à X, en bois sculpté, doré et peint gris…" ; ils ne sont malheureusement pas illustrés dans ce catalogue.
Par ailleurs, deux ployants en bois doré très proches du présent lot figuraient dans la collection Jacques Doucet ; sa vente, 3e partie, Galerie Georges Petit, Paris, 7-8 juin 1912, lot 276.
