HORATIO, VISCOUNT NELSON (1758-1805)
A one-page document, signed: "Nelson & Bronte," to Richard Thomas, from: "Victory at Sea," 26 September 1805, folio, formally placing Thomas under his orders, with a memorandum on the verso by Nelson's secretary, John Scott, referring to signals (tape at centre fold); together with a 3-page 2° Memorandum signed to Captain Thomas, from: "Victory off Cadiz," 1 October 1805, written on the lower portion of the second leaf of an order issued and signed by Admiral Collingwood for the interception of vessels, Nelson's note (6 lines) extending the order for a further ten days, after which Thomas is to join him off Cadiz.
