This ESP 400 Series featured in every song off of Rodgers' first solo album, Adventures in the Land of the Good Groove (released in 1983). That album represented his foray into spreading his wings as a solo artist and producer, developing his individual musical voice: "Adventures in the Land of the Good Groove directly preceded Let’s Dance [released in 1983]… and it’s funny, Adventures in the Land of the Good Groove is what made [David] Bowie totally convinced that I should be his producer. I couldn’t figure it out at the time, but now, in retrospect, I completely get it....Every track on Land of the Good Groove I would have played that ESP bass."
