Lot Essay

This Tokai solid-body guitar was something that Rodgers reached for a lot in the studio: “I played them intermittently on songs, a lot of times when I would double [the rhythm part with] the Hitmaker I would use these other guitars, just like with Daft Punk…. And no Strat sounds like the Hitmaker, so, it was always good to double. So I love these Tokais. [New York guitarist] Eddie Martinez turned me on to Tokais.…as soon as I bought my first one, and this blue one may be the first one I bought, I then wound up getting a few of them.”
