Lot Essay

Like many in the second half of the 20th Century, Nile Rodgers was a big fan of, and drew great inspiration from, The Beatles. It was this love for the Beatles that drew him to this Rickenback 325V59. This model was issued by Rickenbacker as a recreation of the Rickenbacker 325 that John Lennon purchased in Germany in 1960 and used frequently during that decade. Each member of the Beatles was known to have used a Rickenbacker at some point or another, and on his purchase of this popular reissue Rodgers said: "Of course I bought that because I’m a Beatles fan! I couldn’t help myself."
