A rare copy of Revere's iconic Boston Massacre in woodcut. Printed on the inside wrapper of Isaiah Thomas's 1772 Massachusetts Calendar, the print is unsigned but "unquestionably engraved by Thomas's friend, Paul Revere's" (Brigham).This simplified version of Revere's Massacre would also appear on the 1772 broadside, A Monumental Inscription on the Fifth of March, also printed by Isaiah Thomas. Evans 12058; Drake 3213; Brigham, Paul Revere's Engravings p. 203.

16mo (190 x 115mm). 12 leaves (of 16, without final 4 leaves and portrait of the King of Denmark). Woodcut of astronomer on wrapper cover with famous woodcut of the Boston Massacre by Revere on reverse, zodiacal woodcut in text (toned and a little chipped, especially near stab holes, repair to upper outer corner of wrapper). Original self wrapper (resewn). Provenance: some marginalia.
