Johannis Mavromichaeli was one of the leading revolutionaries during the Greek war of Independence. A print of Mavromichaeli was published in 1827 by Adam Friedel as part of a series of portraits of the principal figures of the Greek revolution (a copy of which is now in the British Museum, London).
