Ramos Pinto Dry White Vintage Port 1890
Port
In original wooden presentation box. Ex-Christie's. Christie's Wine Cellar integrated label. Excellent appearance
A good dry vintage which produced delicate wines. Would have been a better year if the harvest had been delayed slightly. A heatwave at the beginning of September followed by occasional rains did not spoil the excellent harvest conditions. Small production of strong wines with lots of structure.
This dry white port was produced at the time for blending and adjusting the sweetness of other wines. From the harvest 1890, bottled after 3 years. This makes it a unique white vintage port. Selected by Adriano Ramos Pinto for his own consumption due to its exceptional quality.
Tasting note: A clear and golden white wine. Impressions of aniseed and liquorice on the nose with hints of bergamot. Dry on the palate. Impressive for age. September 2017. Ana Rosas, Ramos Pinto.
