ROYAL LOCHNAGAR

Royal Lochnagar is located just below the Cairngorm mountains, near Balmoral Castle. It was initially named ‘New Lochnagar,’ however, following a visit by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, the small distillery was granted a Royal Warrant in 1848. It was said that Queen Victoria used to prefer drinking Royal Lochnagar malt and Bordeaux. The distiller is one of those that provides whisky for Johnnie Walker Black Label.
The 24 Year Old Royal Lochnagar bottling is a release recorded with a misprint – on the bottle it states 1972, but 1974 on the box. This 24 Year Old is fruit forward with a delightful ginger spice aroma.
