The Crowborough edition, very finely bound in pictorial morocco, signed by the author. The present is copy number five, signed "A Conan Doyle" on the limitation leaf. Of the 760 copies, 750 were for sale and ten were reserved for the author. Green & Gibson A61.

24 volumes, octavo (218 x 142mm). Half titles, photographic frontispiece portrait of Doyle by Pirie McDonald in volume one. Brown morocco gilt by French Binders Garden City, each volume with color pictorial onlay depicting a different scene from the work, inner dentelles, silk doublures, top edge gilt.
