Lot Essay

The Classique 5247 Model (The Lemania Based Movement)
The present watch features the Breguet Calibre 533.3 which is based on Lémania 2310. In 1999, Nicolas G. Hayek acquired Breguet and also Lemania, which was producing all Breguet watches at that time, along with movements for other watch brands. In 2009, Swatch Group decided that Lemania had to stop delivering movements to its competitors and to focus exclusively on Breguet, having the Lemania name changed to Manufacture Breguet. Thus, present day Breguet’s manufacture has been built on the foundations of Lemania, as reflected in the present movement
