Bottled in small quantity for the Domaine’s library stock. Methuselahs of 2005 were never commercially released. Exclusively for this jubilee auction one Methuselah of the 2005 Chapelle-Chambertin was made available. This Methuselah was tasted in September 2022 by William Ponsot to ensure pristine quality, topped up and closed with a new cork and wax seal.
Tasting note: Nothing is lacking in the 2005 vintage : scents of very ripe berries and spices, astonishing texture on the palate and impressive length….Delicious, of unique quality, it’s a wine of great precision. It’s the perfect example, the quintessence of this grape variety – Pinot noir in all its glory!
