Details
CORTON-CHARLEMAGNE
The production area for wines in the Corton-Charlemagne appellation includes that of the Charlemagne appellation, which is now no longer used on labels. They occupy the south, south-east and south-west slopes of the Mountain over 60 ha. The vines are planted on steep slopes, between 280 and 330 m in altitude. The Ponsot wines come from fruit from the lieux dits of Les Languettes and Le Charlemagne. It is a wine of exceptional balance which combines finesse and richness. Young, the wines of Corton-Charlemagne are ample, with exquisite mineral notes. Five to fifteen years are necessary for them to reveal their aromatic richness of honey, grilled almond, fresh walnut and frangipane.
