拍品專文

Cloisonné enamel wares from the early to mid-Ming period are very rare as production was strictly regulated by Palace eunuchs who operated under the auspices of the Yuyongjian, a sub-division of the Neifu (The Inner Treasury), responsible for supplies to the Imperial Household. The present lot bears close comparison to the 15th century cloisonne enamel dish with Jingtai mark, of similar size (21.9 cm. diameter), from the Pierre Uldry Collection illustrated by H. Brinker and A. Lutz in Chinese Cloisonne: The Pierre Uldry Collection, Zurich, 1985, pl. 10; a slightly larger 15th century dish with a related lotus bud and lotus scroll design and double vajra mark is illustrated in the same publication, pl.14. A closely-related cloisonne enamel lotus dish, Jingtai mark and period (1450-1456), from the Speelman Collection was sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 3 April 2018, lot 3406.
